Nazis in America | The Hidden History of Nazi POWs | Did They Get Captured or Relocated?

Tonight I’m going to be sharing new material about Nazi POW camps in America. I’ve gone out in the field to collect new footage and assembled it together with things I’ve rarely shown

Consider this my definitive intro to Nazi POWs in America. This all started quite by mistake…or rather, I never intended for this to be a research topic. I shook a family tree and Nazis fell out. Where did that part begin?

Tulelake Segregation Facility where my mother was born and raised…quite oddly in the same window of time that the Nazis were sent to her town…would have been the same window she was conceived and born…and I could tell there was something going on with her birth they wanted to hide but it’s just now starting to be clear why…

From there, we’ll head to Ipava, Illinois & visit the Easley Museum which has an impressive archive of items on display about Camp Ellis which housed at once, 5,000 German & Italian POWs but I was told they, in total, held over 8000, especially considering it’s over and hour from the closest regional airport. This is truly ‘small town’ or what some might call ‘middle of nowhere’…but back in the 40s, they built and then broke apart an entire city complete with a hospital the size of the regional ones you find in Peoria or Chicago…they had movie theaters…with an ’S’…more on that later

After I show my new footage and some archives of interviews about Camp Ellis from others I’ll show you the most complete list of camps that held Nazi POWs that I’ve been able to locate…you’ll be able to lookup your own area and see what’s close to you. There was over 700 camps and the odds that you are driving distance to one, assuming you live in the US, is very likely.

Then I’ll show you footage from places like Camp Clinton where the Nazis built a miniature model of the Mississippi River to predict events on the real river by running simulations on it…

Camp Lincoln & even a camp in Canada

One consistent thread to all these camps…the Nazis lived pretty damn good. Way better than any US Soldier and most ‘regular folk’ during that time…while Americans were off fighting WW2 and dying…the ‘captured’ Nazis were brought back to the tune of over 400,000 to be ‘pampered’ in these camps…why? I thought they were Nazis? The answers will surprise you…but check this out

Many German POWs gained over 50 pounds while being ‘hostages’ or ‘prisoners of war’…it makes you wonder what incentive they had to fight. They could surrender, come to America, gain all their weight back, flirt with the local American gals whose men were off fighting…the Nazis…and if that wasn’t bad enough, many of these Nazis stuck around after WW2, integrate into their communities and even got land grants.

All reported from the horses mouths…at the museums or by the former POWs themselves…I don’t know about you but this isn’t what I was told happened after WW2 when I was in school…
