The Jersey is one of the oldest dairy cattle breeds, originally developed on the Island of Jersey, located in the English Channel. It is highly valued worldwide for its excellent adaptability, efficient milk production, and gentle disposition.

Jerseys are typically small to medium-sized cattle, with a refined body structure and a soft, fawn-colored coat that can range from light cream to dark brown. They often have a distinct white face marking and a black nose ring.

One of the main strengths of the breed is its milk quality: Jersey milk is exceptionally rich in butterfat and protein, making it ideal for producing butter, cheese, and other premium dairy products. Despite their smaller body size, Jerseys are very efficient converters of feed into milk, making them one of the most economical dairy breeds to raise.
