An anonymous former scientist from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has shared a chilling account of a deep-sea encounter that has since captured global attention.

Posting anonymously on social media, the individual detailed an extraordinary event that allegedly took place during a mission to study the ocean’s twilight zone, between two hundred and one thousand meters below the surface.

The mission was designed to document bioluminescent organisms and unique ecosystems using state-of-the-art submersibles and remote-operated vehicles.
