Veterans Left to Die in CA's LA (Parody Song)

A parody of Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” — rewritten as a protest against how California has abandoned its homeless veterans.

"Left to Die in CA's LA" calls out the more than a decade-long failure of the West LA VA (formerly known as the Soldier's Home) to deliver on the promise of caring and housing U.S. veterans. The land, which was gifted to the federal government in the late 1880s exclusively for this purpose, has instead been exploited for private deals — leased to UCLA, Brentwood School, and even an oil company — while thousands of veterans live on the streets of Los Angeles and its surrounding communities.

This is not satire. It’s truth disguised in song.
