Mother of Three Walks Out With Alleged Lover, Husband Breaks Down at Police Station

Bengaluru (Karnataka): A family dispute under Bannerghatta police limits (Anekal taluk) has sparked debate after a video surfaced showing a father weeping for his wife’s return while holding her saree at the police station.

Police said Manjunath, a resident of Basavapura village, married Leelavathi 11 years ago and has two sons and a daughter. For nearly two years, Leelavathi allegedly maintained a relationship with Santosh, a car driver.

On 31 August, Leelavathi reportedly left home with Santosh, prompting Manjunath to lodge a complaint seeking her return. Officers traced the pair and brought them to the station, counselling Leelavathi to reconsider for the sake of her three children.

However, Leelavathi refused reconciliation, allegedly removed her thali (mangalsutra), and chose to leave with Santosh, declaring she no longer wished to live with Manjunath or care for the children.

Footage from the station shows the couple’s weeping children and Manjunath pleading, holding his wife’s saree as she walks away. The video has gone viral, triggering emotional reactions across social media.
