In the early 1900’s, John D. Rockefeller and his affiliates pushed to introduce licensing laws for medical practitioners that basically illegalized natural medicine. They illegalized natural medicine with licensing laws.

Let’s go back in time to the late 1800s. John D. Rockefeller, the head of the Rockefeller family had just become very rich through extracting oil from the ground. Now he is looking for ways to capitalize his oil, and he comes across the idea of using coal tar – a petroleum derivative – to make substances that affect the human mind, body and nervous system.

Yes, these drugs are excellent at masking or stopping symptoms, but overall do not cure the underlying cause of a disease.

Rockefeller then bought out part of the massive German pharmaceutical cartel, I.G. Farben. This was the very same cartel that would later assist Hitler by manufacturing chemicals and poisons for war.

Now armed with the ingenious idea of petroleum drugs, He wanted to eliminate the competitors of his new-found investment, so he hired a man called Abraham Flexner to submit a report to Congress in 1910.

This report “concluded” that there were too many doctors and medical schools in America, and that all the other healing methods which had existed for hundreds or thousands of years were unscientific quackery.

Unfortunately, Congress acted upon the conclusions and made them law. Incredibly, modern medicine became the standard, even though its 3 main methods of treatment in the 1800s had been blood-letting, surgery and the injection of toxic heavy metals like lead and mercury to supposedly displace disease!

From then on, it was downhill for the “alternative methods” that were repeatedly and constantly suppressed by the larger powers at play.

Rockefeller expanded his operations outside oil and got into mining, putting him on a collision course with Andrew Carnegie. Those interests were eventually sold to U.S. Steel.

But in 1901 a young Theodore Roosevelt became President and the Trust’s days were numbered. However, by this time Rockefeller was pulling in $63 million a year in retirement.

But the publication of a book on his business practices got him into the PR business trying to put the company in a better light. It backfired horribly and public sentiment against the company became increasingly negative.

In 1911 the U.S. Supreme Court finally broke up the trust, which resulted in it being split into several pieces (Now Exxon/Mobil, Texaco, Chevron and Pennzoil).

But at this time, Rockefeller still held 25% of the stock of Standard Oil, and he retained 25% of the shares of all the new companies. At the breakup, his stake in Standard Oil was worth about $180 million. A few years later, his stake in the new companies was worth $900 million. That’s in 1920 dollars.
