Suzuki Cello Book 4 – Etude for Changing Strings + Tenor Clef & Scales

Welcome to Musicians' Addition! In this lesson, we finish Suzuki Cello Book 4 and dive into the last couple of pages together. We’ll start with the Etude for Changing Strings, a helpful exercise to build clean string crossings and better control. From there, we’ll move into an introduction to tenor clef and practice Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star written in both bass and tenor clef. You’ll also get the chance to strengthen your skills with major scales, touch on minor scales, and take on the challenging one-finger scale exercise. To wrap things up, we’ll work through finger pattern studies designed to improve intonation and ear training.

These studies may feel more like “homework” than performance pieces, but they are essential for developing the technique you’ll need to shine in your future repertoire.
