The Definitive Edition of the critically acclaimed, award winning open-world action adventure, Sleeping Dogs, is reworked, rebuilt and re-mastered for the new generation. Nightmare in North Point (DLC):

In Nightmare in North Point, the grounded crime drama of Sleeping Dogs gets a supernatural twist. During a date night movie, Wei Shen's girlfriend, Not Ping, vanishes in a flash—abducted by the vengeful ghost of Big Scar Wu, now going by the creepy moniker “Smiley Cat.” This undead gangster, ground into cat food in life, returns as a malevolent spirit bent on revenge, unleashing possessed citizens and Jiang Shi (Chinese hopping vampires) across North Point.

With traditional fighting proving ineffective, Wei is outfitted with magical abilities. After drinking a special potion, his good ol’ fists ignite with blue flame—“five-finger smoke punches” that are as visually satisfying as they are powerful. Players also unlock the lethal Peachwood Sword, an end-game weapon effective against the undead and rooted in Taoist ghost lore. Facing Jiang Shi requires building up a “Face meter” and closing undead portals, emphasizing melee combat and timing over stealth or firearms

The DLC sends Wei on a personal journey through both haunted streets and his past. He fights spectral versions of former rivals—Dogeyes, Johnny Ratface, and Ponytail—each battle revealing clues on how to vanquish Smiley Cat. The final battle culminates in burning Wu’s preserved pinky finger at Vincent’s grave, sending the ghost back to Hell. But even then, in a chilling homage to Thriller, Not Ping turns and grins at the camera under moonlight—undeniably possessed—leaving the story hanging on a creepy, unforgettable shot.

At roughly 2–3 hours of content for completion, Nightmare in North Point is much more of a “taste” than a full-course expansion, but what it delivers is a fun, nightmarish twist on Wei’s world It transports players to a perpetually night-shrouded version of North Point, packed with glowing fog and possessed citizens—a visually standout setting perfect for a horror side story. The DLC ramps up the combat and atmosphere for fans craving more—but pushes the game into delightfully outrageous B-movie territory. Want spooky street-level kung fu? Face Missions (Main Story):

Red-Handed Tiffany:
Wei is informed by Calvin about rumours that Tiffany is seeing another guy on the side, keeping calls with him off her cell phone. Wei must find and bug Tiffany's normally used pay phone to investigate the cheating allegations.

Pay Hospital Bills:
Wei helps a woman, Michelle, who is friends with Mrs. Chu. She asks you to drive her husband's damaged car into the harbor to collect insurance money, rather than sell it.

A Quiet Drive:
Calvin asks Wei for a ride, but not right away. After he punches out a cop you and he will need to escape the police. Calvin explains that the man he punched had been sleeping with his "girlfriend".

Fashion Advice:
A girl in a tank top asks for a moment of Wei's time. She'll ask if Wei thinks her shirt is too tight while posing for him. As Wei checks her out, a thug hits him from behind and steals $500 from him. Chase the thug. Eventually, the thug stops and gets two buddies to help him. Beat all three thugs.

Following Tiffany: Wei is informed that Tiffany is meeting with the other guy. Wei goes to Tiffany's apartment and proceeds to pursue her. Once Tiffany reaches her destination, Wei confronts her to learn why she was cheating on him.

Quick Fix:
Wei is tricked by a female motorist into stopping to help, only for the car trouble to be a ruse for a robbery. He must then chase and defeat the thief and his accomplices to recover his stolen money.

Cheaters Never Prosper:
A street racer in the northeastern part of North Point, near the Vehicle Store. Speak to him, and he will explain that Tommy Ha Lan cheated in their last race by running him off the road. He asks you to avenge him by damaging Tommy's race car. While in the act, Tommy will run and fight you, and he can easily be taken down.
