Sheikh Dr. Rafa Halabi — representative of the Druze community on Mount Carmel (Israel), director of the Jerusalem office of the International Organization for Human Rights and the Protection of Public Freedoms, and president of the Organization of Distinguished Gentleman-Captains of the Islamic World.

In this video address, Sheikh Dr. Rafa Halabi presents an analytical review of the activities of ALLATRA International Public Movement as civil society’s response to the global polycrisis: climate instability, rising geodynamic activity, environmental degradation, and social vulnerability. The speaker shows how ALLATRA combines the strengths of a transnational advocacy network and an epistemic community: uniting scientists, translating complex data into accessible language, building bridges between scientific knowledge, society, religious and state institutions, while maintaining the principles of decentralization, volunteerism, openness, and transparency.

Dr. Halabi explains that today disasters reinforce one another, while conventional response mechanisms cannot keep pace. As a result, as a horizontally organized volunteer community, ALLATRA takes on the role of an “early warning system.” Here science moves beyond narrow disciplines: ALLATRA’s research brings together scattered pieces of climatology, geodynamics, ecology, and medicine into a unified picture that explains the exponential growth of risks. The movement places special emphasis on underestimated factors: from the role of nanoplastics (its impact on climate processes and human health) to geodynamic threats. At the same time, educational work is unfolding: from documentaries and forums to seminars for government institutions, raising scientific literacy and turning knowledge into practices of social resilience. ALLATRA is a story of personal responsibility and the maturation of civil society: when everyone, from scientist to volunteer, becomes a link connecting science, society, religion, and the state for the protection of life.

In the final part of the video, Sheikh Rafa Halabi makes a direct and personal appeal not to remain on the sidelines. He calls to support the valuable work being carried out today by ALLATRA volunteers, to integrate their interdisciplinary research into the global agenda, to protect participants from politically motivated persecution, and to expand cooperation between science, society, religions, and states. His message is about the choice each person makes: to turn knowledge into action and become part of the solution for the future of their children and grandchildren.
