What is "decision speed"?

✈️ No, it’s not the crew’s reaction speed, but a strictly calculated limit during the airplane’s acceleration. Until this limit is reached, the captain can abort the takeoff if the situation requires it.

🪟 The average speed needed to lift off the ground is about 240–300 km/h. This value is individual and depends on the specific airplane model, its weight, and weather conditions: wind, temperature, and air pressure. After reaching the required km/h, the airplane must take off — this is the decision speed.

Our pilots know this boundary very well; their actions are based on precise calculations and the highest professionalism.
