One of the biggest chess festivals in the world, the 31st Abu Dhabi Chess Festival just concluded and more than 3600 players from 81 countries participated across 31 tournaments in the ten day mega festival. The Abu Dhabi Chess festival is not only known for the big stars who play in the Masters section but all the new talents we get to see each year in the junior categories. Also for the first time this year, the festival partnered with ChessBase India and gave an opportunity to youngster FM Jaiveer Mahendru to get a wild card entry to the masters section after he won the 4th Hyderabad Chess Festival which was organised in partnership with the festival. This is the first time, such a major international chess festival has offered something like this and we look forward for many more collaborations in the coming days.
Organizing a festival at such a big scale requires a lot of effort and dedication from the people who work tirelessly to make the festival possible and in this video we speak to them and ask them to share their thoughts.
