Part 26. The Singapore Excuse | Why AWS Servers Abroad Are Still a U.S. Problem
When the NYPD closed my case, they claimed the fraud servers were “outside U.S. jurisdiction” because the IP traced to AWS in Singapore. But that excuse doesn’t stand.
Amazon Web Services is a U.S. company. Its billing records, account ownership, and payment methods are all controlled from the United States. Under the CLOUD Act, AWS must disclose this data — no matter where the servers are located.
This episode of the Justice DIY series exposes:
How AWS Singapore hosting was used to shield fraud
Why AWS U.S. still holds the keys: names, addresses, payments
How DOJ’s $225M seizure proves cross-border fraud is traceable
Why “foreign server” is not an excuse, but a cover for negligence
📌 Hosting abroad does NOT erase accountability. Jurisdiction is not a wall when the company is American.
