Variations on this fan design seem to be everywhere now. Prices vary, but this one cost me just £20.99, discounted from £22.99.In the box, I received the fan itself, a short charging cable and a well printed, easy to read but rather unnecessary user guide. Although all plastic, the build quality seems fine and the fan has quite a hefty, substantial feel to it.
The appeal of the fan has to be in the design. It looks chunky and minimalist with a small but bright LED status display screen in the centre. This screen shows the current fan speed and battery status and is small, bright and easy to see but annoyingly cannot be turned off when the fan is in use. The last one I reviewed had a large and bright permanent display, this one has a small but equally bright display whic h is almost as annoying at night.
The fan sits on a well balanced and hefty stand, and although it does not rotate, it can be swivelled 90° forwards and back. On the underside of the base are a slot for wall mounting and a hanging hook. The fan comes with a adhesive wall mount, but personally, I would think twice about using it to hang this rather heavy fan.
T
The fan features a 5400 mAh battery, charged through the USB-C port on the underside, with a 3.5 hour charge giving between 4.5 to 20 hours of use depending on the fan level selected. One minor annoyance is due to the positioning of the USB-C charging port on the underside of the fan, many USB cables will not fit neatly.
Operation could not be simpler with two buttons at the centre of the base, one for power/ fan speed up and the other for fan speed down. When plugged in, the display shows the current fan speed and then defaults to the battery level along with a small charging icon. When used on battery power, the icon flashes when the battery level to 10%.
Short press the Power/Up button, and the fan power goes up in 25% stages, long press and it goes up in 1% increments.
The fan is powerful, although by no means the most powerful I have encountered, but it is one of the quietest. It would be perfect for bedtime use if there was some way of switching off the annoying screen display.
If you need a stylish and attractive fan with an almost silent operation, then this would be a great buy.
