Sudan’s army-backed government has released a report rejecting U.S. allegations that its forces used chemical weapons in the ongoing civil war. The findings, based on field tests, forensic reviews, and medical data collected since April, stated there was no evidence of chemical or radioactive contamination in Khartoum state. Sudan’s health ministry reported no cases of mass deaths or symptoms linked to chemical poisoning, calling Washington’s accusations “baseless” and “political blackmail.” The U.S. imposed sanctions in June over the alleged use of chemical weapons, while both the army and the paramilitary RSF remain locked in a brutal two-year conflict.
