The King Is In Your Field!
The King Is In Your Field!
Good morning. I’m the one who stood before you and said what needed to be said — the one who wanted you jacked up, smiling, and ready to receive. This message is the same urgent, tender, prophetic word I spoke recently: it’s kickoff season, and the King has stepped out of His palace and come into our field. If you were there with me, you felt the electricity. If you weren’t, watch the replay video, read on and let this be the morning you decide to open the gate of your heart and let His presence pour in.
Introduction: Why This Morning Matters
This isn’t just another devotional moment. This morning was a prophetic checkpoint: a royal kickoff where heaven is leaning in and saying, “I’m walking in your field.” The urgency in my voice wasn’t performance — it was weight. The Lord woke me with an image of His foot stepping onto a vast, green field. He said three words: it’s kickoff. That single image carries both promise and demand. It’s a call to celebrate, to prepare, to position, and to remove every block that would repel heaven’s open portal.
The Call to Thanksgiving and Joy
Before anything else: thanksgiving. I reminded you to enter the courts of the Lord with praise. This is not hollow sentiment. It’s a spiritual key. Psalm language and the living invitation of God converge on this simple discipline: give thanks for this day because He made it. The posture of thanksgiving opens the gate of encounter.
"This is the day that I, your God, have given to you. Thank me for it. Enter my gates with thanksgiving."
Why is joy essential? There’s a spiritual physiology here. Joy isn’t merely an emotion; it’s a condition that makes you receptive to God’s presence. I even illustrated it with practical humor: try smiling so hard the muscles in your cheeks hurt and you’ll trigger endorphins. Why? Because God made our bodies to respond. The combination of thanksgiving + joy primes your spirit-body-soul for visitation.
Kickoff Season Explained: Elul, Rosh Hashanah, and the Prophetic Calendar
Spiritually, our calendars matter. The month of Elul in the Hebrew calendar is not just a date — it’s a kairos window. Elul precedes Tishrei and Rosh Hashanah, and in 2025 that window runs from sundown on August 24 until sundown on September 22, with Rosh Hashanah beginning at sundown on September 22. This season has always been a time of reflection, return, and nearness. The rabbis painted this season with one unforgettable image: “the king is in the field.”
That phrase means the palace protocols fall away. No guards. No ceremony. God walks among His people in the very place they labor. It’s a period of accessibility, a summons to repentance, and an invitation to intimacy. Rosh Hashanah — the feast of trumpets (Yom Teruah) — is a holy convocation of shofar blasts calling God’s people into alignment. This is not only historical; for believers in Christ, it is intensified. The Word became flesh and tabernacled among us. The King pitches His tent in our camp permanently. Yet there is a prophetic “kickoff” to be received if we position ourselves rightly.
The Image: The King Is in the Field — Accessibility and Intimacy
Imagine a monarch leaving the palace and walking into the harvest fields. Normally approach requires ceremony. In Elul, He says come as you are. That image is meant to shake you out of ritual distance and bring you into relationship. The Lord is not aloof — He’s accessible. He’s in the field with you, and the field is now a place of encounter.
"The king is in the field. He pitched his tent there. He’s not visiting — He’s dwelling."
That changes everything. Our faith moves from seasonal ritual to daily habitation. The King’s tent is among us; the presence is not ephemeral. But even as He pitches His tent, there is an open portal — and you either invite Him or repel Him. That choice matters.
How to Position Yourself to Receive
If God stands in your field, why don’t you feel it? Why is there crust on faces in the sanctuary? I was blunt about this because it matters. The Lord is calling for a condition of heart that is receptive: gratitude, praise, joy, repentance, and obedience. If you resist, you block the visitation. If you open, you receive.
Practical tips to position yourself:
Enter with thanksgiving: start the day declaring, "This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it."
Trigger joy intentionally: if you’re not feeling it, force a smile, sing, or praise out loud. Spirit works with our physical choices.
Repent and remove bitterness: admit what has hardened you. Tell God, “Take that heart of stone — give me a heart of flesh.”
Sow obedience, not just words: when the Lord asks you to build or give, do it. Obedience invites multiplication.
Position yourself to receive by being present in quiet: one second with Him can rewrite a lifetime.
Practical Steps: Joy, Thanksgiving, Sowing, and Building
We talked about more than feeling good. There are strategic actions to take. The divine promise over the kickoff season includes multiplication, harvest, and the recovery of lost ground. But there’s an economy in heaven — seedtime and harvest — and it still works.
Three commands I pressed upon you:
Build: Prepare the place where the harvest will land. Lay foundations, develop blueprints, plan with faith.
Sow: Give your resources, time, gifts, and worship. Even the smallest seed in obedience can be multiplied.
Flourish: Expect a thousandfold compensation for lost seasons when you combine offering with obedience and a joyful heart.
God’s multiplication is not automatic — it’s relational and covenantal. He said, "Bring me what you have" — and then watch the multiplication. If you bring nothing, nothing will be multiplied. If you bring the two fish and five loaves that you do have, He will multiply them.
Prophetic Picture for Nations: Restoration of the Land
I spoke prophetically over Canada and America, recognizing both as lands flowing with resources — milk, honey, fertile soil, energy. The prophetic charge was clear: steward the land well, restore it to godly stewardship, and the King's tent will spread across the nation as His people yield. This is not politics; it’s spiritual stewardship.
We commanded darkness to leave, asked God to shake what must be shaken, and to remove leaders or structures that operate in dishonesty or theft. Yet the heart of that moment is pastoral, not punitive: “Come, pitch your tent here.” As you open your heart and act with faith, the presence that dwells in you will spread into the community and nation.
How to Respond — A Practical Checklist
If you heard this morning, what next? Here’s a short, bold checklist to help you respond practically and prophetically:
Begin each day with thanksgiving, not complaint.
Cultivate joy — choose praise, even when it’s hard.
Repent quickly of hardness, bitterness, and cynicism.
Sow: give of your finances, time, and talents toward kingdom projects.
Build: take the small practical next step on the vision God put in your heart.
Position: set aside silence and stillness for one-second encounters with God.
Invite His tent: declare, “Lord, pitch your tent in me and in my field.”
Conclusion: Respond Now — Don’t Be the Blockage
The King is not distant. He has come into your field. The portal above you is open in Elul leading into Rosh Hashanah. This is a season of kickoff — to receive promises, to begin projects that will bring multiplication, and to step into a year of the vav (the connector) where heaven and earth are bridged. But an open portal requires an open heart. Don’t be the wet blanket. Remove the hardness. Get happy. Be the opening.
Walk in fearless trust — it’s not a feeling; it’s a strategy. Trust God with your life, your family, your resources, and your calling. Enter His courts with thanksgiving. Let the oil of joy flow. Let’s build, sow, and watch God bring forth harvests that make up for lost seasons. The King has come to the field. He’s here to stay. Let Him have the place He’s given you.
