Old Drunkard (Down and Out)
Written and Performed By
Dan D. Dirges

Old drunkard, stumbling down the street
Scrounging for a little change to make it thru
Scornful looks. You see thru them
Through bloodshot, hollow (or ancient?) eyes, which no one knew

Rest now, ease your troubled mind
Dream of a better time
Of a life out on the skids
Down and out

Old drunkard, sitting in the park
Killing time, drinking wine
With sunlight shining down
Yesterday, and all it`s weariness
Soon, will surely be forgotten now

Rest now, ease your troubled mind (drink your pain away?)
Dream of a better time
Of a life out on the skids
Down and out

Old drunkard, passed out on the sidewalk
A thousand shoes pass by. They wont see you there
One life, how much is it worth
In the wicked world. Where no one cares

Rest now, ease your troubled mind
Dream of a better time
Of a life out on the skids
Down and out
