Year Of The Snake (DLC):

Year of the Snake picks up immediately after the main story, with Wei Shen demoted to beat cop due to the carnage he caused infiltrating the Triads. His routine ticket-writing assignment quickly spirals into chaos when he stumbles on a rented blue Enterprise involved with a time bomb near a dragon dance display. From there, Wei uncovers the unsettling emergence of the Cult of the Snake, a doomsday group bent on ushering in the apocalypse during Hong Kong’s Lunar New Year celebrations.

This 12-mission DLC plunges players into a high-stakes, race-against-the-clock narrative. Wei explores iconic Hong Kong landmarks—Aspirazone, K-Bar, a packed mall, the North Point Minibus depot, fish markets besieged by cultists, Soho riots, and finally Aberdeen’s docks—sabotaging bomb plots, rescuing hostage situations, and dealing with mass panic. Gameplay introduces a powerful new arsenal, including tear gas launchers and electroshock pistols, increasing both strategic variety and visceral action.

The plot crescendos at midnight, as Wei disrupts yet another bomb and confronts the cult’s mastermind—Master Chu—at the docks. After intense firefights and high-speed chases (including ditching a bomb-laden car into the ocean), Wei’s actions prevent the apocalypse while fireworks herald the New Year. Instead of immediately arresting Master Chu, Wei proves the doomsday forecasts false, symbolically nullifying the cult’s prophecy—only to detain him precisely at the stroke of midnight.

Dating Missions (Main Story):
In Sleeping Dogs, dating comes in the form of missions, some girlfriends appear after the date, but after the missions are complete, all of their bonuses are unlocked and they cannot be dated again. Wei explains this to Peggy Li in Bride to Be, saying that having a girlfriend wouldn't be a good idea with his current lifestyle.
