Endurance of the Saints: Why Christians Will Be Here During Tribulation

Tribulation is not God’s wrath. When Jesus stood on the Mount of Olives and gave His disciples the blueprint of the end of the age, He did not soften His words. He warned that before His return there would be false messiahs, wars and rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes in diverse places, and hatred directed at His followers. In Matthew 24 He declared plainly that His disciples would be handed over to be persecuted and killed, and that all nations would hate them because of Him. His words leave no room for a secret escape hatch. Instead, He said, “But the one who endures to the end shall be saved.” Notice that He did not say the one who escapes, but the one who endures. Endurance implies going through the fire, not being lifted out of it before the flames arise.
