Sean Duffy Highlights Historic Crime Reduction and Thanks President Trump for Security Policies
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy highlighted this past weekend a significant reduction in crime rates, emphasizing the positive impact of policies promoted by President Donald J. Trump in public safety.
In recent remarks, Duffy stated:
“Robberies have dropped 52%. Vehicle assaults have dropped 38%. Violent crime overall has dropped 40%. All of us, if you have children, want to be able to move around this city without fearing for your safety or your life. I thank the President for driving these policies, which will change the way people can live, move, and feel safe in this community.”
A Tangible Change in Families’ Lives
Duffy emphasized that these results are not just cold statistics, but a reflection of the peace of mind that American families seek in their daily lives. He noted that parents, in particular, need urban environments where their children can move safely, and these declines in crime represent a step in the right direction.
“We will do our part to ensure people feel safe at Union Station, especially those traveling through Union Station, and have a great experience on these new Acela trains,” added Duffy, referring to the iconic Washington railway station and the high-speed train system connecting the capital to the Northeast.
The Trump Security Strategy
Security achievements have been highlighted by the Trump administration as one of the main government priorities: strengthening law enforcement, supporting the police, and ensuring that public spaces such as transportation stations, schools, and neighborhoods can operate without the shadow of violence.
The decline in robberies, vehicle assaults, and violent crime is interpreted by Republicans as evidence that “law and order” policies work when applied with firmness and consistency.
A Vision for a Safe Community
Duffy emphasized that the commitment does not end with the numbers but with ensuring that citizens can feel safe in their daily lives. The transformation of spaces like Union Station symbolizes this effort: turning a location with a history of crime incidents into a benchmark for safety, modern transportation, and citizen confidence.
“This is just the beginning,” concluded Duffy, projecting that the combination of infrastructure investment, police support, and firm action against crime can restore peace and stability to communities.
