Thailand's Bhumjaithai leader says he has backing to become PM

The leader of Thailand's Bhumjaithai party Anutin Charnvirakul said on Wednesday (September 3) he has the support of 146 lawmakers from seven groups and parties in his bid to become prime minister. The opposition People's Party, which controls nearly a third of lower house seats, said it was backing Charnvirakul for premier.
