The Lighthouse and the Destiny of Man

Science Fiction Author D. Colin Palmer here. At the Lighthouse Poker Room, where chance and choice meet in the glow of neon and memory, the question of destiny rises. Quantum mechanics tells us that infinite versions of ourselves sit across the table, each play of the cards unfolding in cascading realities. Buddhism reminds us that karma and intention bind these realities together into a single path of meaning. The Norse believed that fate was a web spun by unseen hands, while the Celts saw destiny as the great circle where death and rebirth flow into one another. Tonight, we sit where those traditions converge, and in the shuffle of cards we glimpse the ultimate truth: that man is not the author of destiny, but its willing participant.
