This name-change policy was part of the government’s push to Japanize their colonial subjects, a direct result of the country’s imperialist policy that came to a head with its invasion of China in 1937. This man, Chen Wen Ming, is quite a legend, son of a local landlord, he grew up and decided to become one of the original communist (one of just 72 before 1947) at a young age, was one of the few insurgents that actually fought against the KMT in 228. was jailed twice and one time sentenced to death, but he managed to survive all this.

His point is very very interesting, but probably the best one I've heard so far.

The answer? BECAUSE LEE TENG HUI WAS/IS PROBABLY AN AMERICAN AGENT. The Americans forced Chiang to insert Lee and he was not in a position to say no. (This also ties into the whole nuclear weapon development. did you know that the CIA double agent in Taiwan's nuclear project defected THE DAY BEFORE CCK died? totaaaaaallly by chance yes sir.)

Because if you are actually familiar with that period, you realize that there were actually a number of other equally qualified Taiwanese locals whom Chiang was raising, but why did Lee, a guy who basically came out of left field (less than a dozen years before Lee was the VP, he was still on the KMT blacklist), end up as the VP when Chiang himself knew he was in poor health?

The biggest thing among the group, that only Lee had, was that he was an American PHD. he was the only guy in that group which had that.

(I highly recommend to listen through this whole thing, it is probably the best real and objective perspective on the period and how it relates to modern time, aka who is bullshitting today and distorting the past for political gain.)

If you visit China, and especially live there you will realise that Chinese people are a lot happier than people in the west. They are luckier than westerners. Better society; more peaceful, less egoistic, more culturally developed and intelligent.

I expect there may be some hateful comments written by some ignorant white supremacists who have never set foot in China, but love to cling to dark fantasies, but I know from experience that the western cultures, with their crime and deluded alliance with the awful USA are much less pleasant places to live than China.

People can talk as much s..t as they choose, but in reality, China is a far happier place to live than the US and its unfortunate allied world. The thing is, Europe would be much less sad if it broke off with the horrid USA.

why you are doing it. Have you heard about the militarization of the
universities in China, with students prepared to back a military uprising
to overthrow the CCP, with President Xi under house arrest for his
protection? We may be seeing such an uprising here if the military does
not step up to do their part openly, instead of covertly as they are doing.

How is Lee Teng-Hui (李登輝) perceived by the Japanese?
The unbiased truth is that despite being ethnic Chinese from Taiwan, Lee Teng-Hui was raised Japanese (when Taiwan was a colony of Japan) and proud to be Japanese and remembers the good old days in rose-tinted glasses. Lee is the lowest of the low. Chiang Jingkuo(Chiang Kai Shek's son who succeeded him) - was a great man who initiated democracy for Taiwan before his death. His greatest mistake was appointing Lee as his successor, who was later revealed to be a card carrying communist in his youth.

Lee not only started the practise of massive corruption in Taiwan which carries on till today, he also later betrayed the KMT, lending support to the separatist DPP who defeated the KMT later in two presidential elections under the disgraced Chen Suibian who was jailed for committing multi millions of corruptions.

He is also an absolute disgraceful scumbag - swearing allegiance to Taiwanese former colonial masters the Japanese - having a Japanese name as an alternative to his Chinese name, frequently having photos of himself taken in kimonoes.

He has no credibility at all in claiming said Islands are Japan's rightful properties - given his traitorial stances as a Japanese lap dog all along, and his extensive turn coating throughout his life. The evidence he used to substantiate Japan's ownership of the islands are completely circumspect and weak.

I take no position on who the rightful owners of the islands should be - but simply stating that Lee's treacherous past and lifelong allegiance to Japan should cast serious doubt on his credibility to anything.

Why do Taiwanese people love Japan, which invaded Taiwan before? Does an invasion always bring love?

Both Japan and Taiwan are US allies. Japan is fond of Taiwan because Taiwan serves as a great tool to use against mainland China and vice versa. The demonization of mainland China is great for Japan’s own PR and how they can tout they “aren’t racist towards Chinese people because they like Taiwanese”, but a major pain is South Korea. The USA has had to force South Korea and Japan to get along for decades as a part of its strategy in “containing China”.

Taiwan is favourably contrasted with South Korea from the Japanese perspective because South Korea and Japan have plenty of unresolved issues, while Taiwan is constantly affectionate towards Japan. A common belief among Japanese nationalists is that Japanese imperialism was actually a good thing because Taiwanese people loved being a part of Japan whereas the Koreans are “ungrateful” for the colonisation of the Korean peninsula and “Koreans fabricate lies about Japan”. South Korea is a rival and has a lot of unpleasant history with Japan so Taiwan’s existence at demonstrating how “great” Imperial Japan was is highly valuable.

My late mother was born in China Canton province wish when China rise she will set up a new system because under the west system humanity cannot breath. I was married to my children Lebanese father I too cannot breath that I need to plan my escape in late 1983. What I could not understand how an uneducated housewife like my mother can have this kind of thinking? And from that day onwards I will never failed to listen when she spoke because my teacher told us studying in a "Life University" you listened to the elders when they speak. And she even said since we had to speak English (Singapore education was changed to All English when LKY took power.) because of the west economics power then when China economic surpassed the west the people should speak Chinese too. My mother is one proud Chinese and she told me we are born a Chinese and we will die as a Chinese. I believed I got her gene. My mother has no fear and she loved her God very much. Her happiness was helping others because she believed she was doing God works. She was a Jehovah Witness and she had failed to convert any of her children.

WHY MY MOTHER WAS NOT HAPPY WITH LKY?

Singapore had to progress and Lee Kuan Yew believed he got to change the education system from Chinese to English in order for Singapore to be successful. Culture cannot bring sus food but learning English can get us a job to feed the family. During those time the Chinese community spoke dialects and the Malays speak Malay and the Indians speak their mother tongue. Just like in Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and many other ASEAN countries they speak their local language except Singapore. And for my mother she saw it as tragic and she said Lee Kuan Yew was sinful to transform the fabric of the society to a western one and she said that he did not have the right to do and even for his family members he also had no right to determine their way of life.

The Chinese educated during this era suffered tremendously. I came from the only coeducation school Chinese and English educated and I witnessed how damaging it was and both my brothers were Chinese educated and I saw first hand how with one stroke Lee Kuan Yew destroy the life of the Chinese educated. They were life 2nd class citizen ...the story is too long to share and if I manage to publish my book you can read my grandfather story.....

Now coming to my mother why she was so unhappy with what LKY had done to the society got to do with her being a stranger in her own home when everyone were speaking English and obviously the grandchildren could not communicate with her in her dialect Cantonese. It was so sad watching my mother being a stranger among her grandchildren.

She said that Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Taiwan kept their way of life and tradition and without English as the main language and they are doing well economically. Why Singapore got to make such a drastic change for success because the strength of the country is to pile a strong root in our identity, cultures and values. My mother believed LKY did it for a selfish reason. Because he and his wife were English educated in and both of them communicated in English and all his children spoke English at home. When LKY was elected in the parliament all he heard were dialects and he could not understand and he had made everyone speak English. My mother said if he did not do it he will be the odd one out so when the whole nation speak English it will make them normal something like that....
