In 1985, the US govt launched the National Cholesterol Education Program, which was largely funded by Big Pharma.
This coincided with trusted and financially captured organizations (AHA, ACC) lowering the recommended levels of total cholesterol from 300 to 200.
Oh and Statin drug production really ramped up around this time as well.
Coincidence or conspiracy?
