Continuing our chronological reading of the Scriptures, today’s study covers 2 Samuel 7 and 1 Chronicles 17. These two chapters parallel each other in recounting David’s desire to build a Temple for the Ark. Although the LORD denied David that privilege, He granted him a greater one: not only did He promise that his son would build a temple, but also that his lineage would reign forever on Israel’s throne.
