Many are now saying that CBS News should lose their license for manipulating the interview, selectively editing her responses to make sure the audience didn't hear the criminal record of an illegal migrant.

It happened on a "Face the Nation" interview where Noem was talking about immigration enforcement and the case of Kilmer Abrego Garcia who was detained by ICE

In the broadcast, CBS removed a significant portion of Noem’s response about Garcia, an illegal migrant facing human smuggling charges.
The edited-out segment included Noem’s statement:
"This individual was a known human smuggler, MS-13 gang member, an individual who was a wife beater, and someone who was so perverted that he solicited nude photos from minors."

"And even his fellow human traffickers told him to knock it off. He was so sick of what he was doing and how he was treating small children."

This 25-second segment was cut, leaving viewers unaware of the severity of the charges against Garcia.

The interview focused on DHS’s immigration enforcement actions, including planned operations in Chicago and the arrest of 5,000 illegal immigrants in Los Angeles.
Noem’s unedited remarks highlighted the dangers posed by people like Garcia, emphasizing the Trump administration’s focus on deporting illegal migrant criminals to protect public safety.

Critics argue that CBS should be held accountable, with many asserting that the network’s broadcasting license should be taken away for violating journalistic integrity.
Many see the edited interview as part of a larger media effort to hide the dangers of open border policies, which the Trump administration, under Noem’s DHS leadership, is working to address.

Trump filed a $20 billion lawsuit against CBS alleging that the network’s editing violated the law, which prohibits misleading acts in commerce.

In the end, CBS had to pay
