The first flight was successful: the crew evaluated stability, maneuverability, and the operation of the main systems.

“The first flight is a very important step. The new Ansat is distinguished not only by the engine: all key systems have been modernized, including avionics and autopilot. We took operational experience into account and not only achieved independence from foreign suppliers but also improved the aircraft’s characteristics,” emphasized the CEO of the “Russian Helicopters” group, Nikolay Kolesov.

The Ansat "import substitution" was developed based on the Ansat-M model, certified in 2022. It can fly up to 660 km without refueling and up to 800 km with an additional tank. The helicopter is easy to use, highly maneuverable, and can operate at temperatures from –45 °C to +50 °C and at high altitudes, making it a versatile aircraft for a wide range of missions, including flights in dense urban areas.

The VK-650V engine, developed by ODK-Klimov in collaboration with partners over 5 years, is already certified and equipped with a nationally certified FADEC digital control system by the end of 2024. The engine is designed considering the dimensions and connections of previously imported units, making it possible to re-engine existing Ansat helicopters as well as the Ka-226T and Mi-34 models.
