Reverse Crunch with head up; knees bent or straight

One of the more challenging exercises to do and teach. A reverse crunch from the floor is not a big movement. Especially if you are just beginning. Many people add way too much momentum or don't even utilize the lower portion of the abdominals at all because of the leg position.
Knees or legs need to stay above the hips. Not in front the of the hips. If your legs are in the right position, you will feel the lower abs working. The knees or the feet are going straight up to the ceiling NOT coming forward. It's tiny when done from the floor. The movement can advance to a greater range of motion. But this lift from the floor without the hands hanging onto something for most people will be very small BUT very effective. I have the head up because I have found over the years people are more likely to catch on to the movement and keep in isolated to the abs.
If you have had abdominal surgeries this will most likely need re-educating. I have had 5 abdominal surgeries. So I know what I'm talking about and I know how you feel.
