The Circus of False Independence

(8/30/2025) What happens when an entire generation builds its identity through the lens of social media? The Circus of False Independence is my latest blog—too short to call it an essay and built around an actual incident that happened over the weekend. A blunt dive into the absurd spectacle of false connection, codependency, and curated misery that masquerades as independence in the age of OnlyFans, Instagram, and TikTok.

Electronic “connection,” sold as a subscription, codependency, rebranded as independence, and everyone is selling a mask they hope passes for authenticity and socializing. My first blog since May.

This isn’t about condemning sex work itself. I actually love the everyday sex worker. It’s about the fakery of selling false friendship, the hollowness of parasocial friendship, and the absurd expectation that neediness is currency. Strip away the performance, and what’s left is a curated misery reel, include emotional support animal—one that reflects a generation more lost and miserable than the “miserable humans” they mock.

This closes where many of mine do: with entropy. Every fight, prayer, friendship, and OnlyFans subscription will be dust in ten thousand years. AI will inherit the cold logic humans never could. If you’re online a lot, witness the endless doom scrolling, or tried to find meaning in this absurd culture, take a look. Its one of my shorter ones. Less than 10 minutes.
