In 1944, the Tuskegee Airmen — America’s first African American fighter pilots — flew P-51 Mustangs with red tails. Crews called them the “Red Tail Angels.” Yet at home, they still faced segregation. Their legacy, led by Benjamin Davis, remains a symbol of courage and justice.
