On August 20, 2025, we lost a visionary, a dear friend, and the guiding light of The Arlington Institute — John L. Petersen.
John passed peacefully, surrounded by family, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. His loss is deeply felt, not only by his loved ones but by the entire Arlington Institute community.

We invite you to join us on Saturday, September 6, 2025, for a double header Transition Talk with two great speakers and a very special intermission in celebration of Johns remarkable life and legacy. This gathering will feature both a celebration of his life through heartfelt reflections from colleagues and friends, as well as the continuation of his vision through the Transition Talks series.

On this special day, John’s closest friends and fellow Quartet panelists — Frank Jacob, Penny Kelly, and Gregg Braden — will be joined by Dr. David Martin for a truly extraordinary Quartet session in John’s honor. This promises to be an unforgettable event of insight, remembrance, and inspiration.
