Switch 2 Fake Physical Games Just Got EXPOSED

Nintendo’s “physical” Switch 2 game key cards are a scam.
Japan’s National Diet Library just made it official: they won’t archive or preserve these releases, because the cards don’t actually contain the game data. That means they aren’t real physical games.

Since 2000, the NDL has been preserving Japan’s gaming history with discs, cartridges, and physical releases. But Switch 2 key cards? They’re being treated like digital-only games — disposable, unpreservable, and destined to vanish once Nintendo’s servers go offline.

This proves what we’ve been saying all along: key cards are glorified DRM tokens. They’re not true physical media, they don’t belong in any serious collection, and now even one of the largest game preservation institutions in the world agrees.
