This track is built from the 1752 poem "Hermann und Thusnelda" by Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock. In it, we hear the voice of Thusnelda—wife of Hermann (also known as Arminius)—welcoming her warrior home from battle, his blade still dripping red, his captured eagle standard in hand. We reimagine these lines in a modern, synth-infused form: BLUTLICHT (Bloodlight) fuses haunting retro melodies, glitched rhythms, and the ancient voice of Germanic defiance. Hermann was a hero of the Germanic tribes. Once trained by the Romans, he turned against them in one of history's greatest ambushes—the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest (9 AD). There, he annihilated three Roman legions (the 17th, 18th, and 19th), halting Roman expansion into Germania and uniting the scattered tribes in rebellion. The Roman Empire never recovered those eagle standards—nor dared to conquer the Germanic heartland again.
