In life, we often find ourselves trying to save others, trying to pull them out of the depths of their struggles while we end up on the drowning room floor with them. The truth is, you can't rescue anyone who doesn't want to be rescued themselves. This is a blessing in the lesson, I've learned from personal experience, and I know many of you out there have faced similar situations.

The Struggle of Watching Loved Ones Falter

I have a family member who is going down a difficult path. He's struggling, and it's painfully clear to see that it's going to end in death. Despite our attempts to help and offer guidance, he doesn't want to listen. It’s become evident that sometimes, you just have to let people go. Their journey is their own, and they have to want to better themselves or not.

I’ve noticed with this particular family member, he carries the weight of his choices, both physically and emotionally. He has a big gut and looks worn down, like he's carrying the world’s burden on his shoulders. Yet, he refuses to make a change. I'm certain that you have family members or you yourself are struggling now with this... This resistance, I’ve come to realize, is often rooted in emotional trauma. But the unfortunate reality is, you can’t help anyone who don't want to help themselves.

The Role of the Savior ain't your unless you want to go down with the ship with them...

For those of you who have the instinct to save others, know this: your efforts might not always yield the results you hope for. You may find yourself offering advice, support, and encouragement, only to see them disregard your words. They continue to visit doctors and gather advice that conflicts with yours, often resulting in them becoming even more unwell. Also, more dependent on the Doctors orders...

As frustrating as it is, sometimes the best intention can lead nowhere if the person isn't willing to change. You must let them go and live the best you that is possible, because death is coming for you to.

Being a Living Sample Example

So, what can you do for yourself? Focus on rescuing yourself. Lead by example. Pull yourself out of the mud. When you choose to live your best life, others will notice. They'll either push further away form you or become magnetically attracted to you. They’ll see the positive changes in your life, the mental and physical health improvements, and the happiness that radiates from within you because life is better because you learn from your struggles.

Instead of trying to forcibly change someone, become the version of yourself that you are proud of. By living healthily and happily, you set a silent but powerful boundary to who you are and what you are about. Your transformation can serve as an inspiration, making others want to emulate the changes they see in you. And, if they don't keep on moving with your bas ass self.
