Last week, Secretary Rubio confirmed that the designation of the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization is "in the works" — citing evidence linking Brotherhood affiliates to Hamas & other jihadist groups.

The following countries have designated the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organization:

Egypt (2013, designated as a terrorist organization following the ousting of President Mohamed Morsi)

Saudi Arabia (2014, designated as a terrorist organization)

United Arab Emirates (2014, designated as a terrorist organization)

Bahrain (2015, designated as a terrorist organization)

Russia (2003, banned and labeled as a terrorist organization)

Syria (banned, with historical crackdowns dating back to the 1980s)

Jordan (2025, officially banned with all activities prohibited and assets confiscated)

Libya (2019, designated as a terrorist organization by the Tobruk-based House of Representatives)
