1069 1 Tim.3.8-13 Qualifications of Deacons

Deacons are official servants of the church, responsible for practical service so elders can focus on prayer and the Word. Their character, family life, doctrine, and service must be exemplary. Wives are also expected to be dignified and faithful, given their involvement in their husbands' ministry. Deacons are tested before serving, and faithful service brings honour and boldness in the faith. All believers, however, are called to serve Christ and one another.
