How Temptation Targets Our Deepest Desires
Temptations arise from one of our three enemies, Satan, the world system, or the sin nature. Temptations always appeal to our own desires. It's not a temptation if it doesn't appeal to your desire. And we've talked about this before. I mean, if Satan comes with something, let's take, for instance, if you were hungry and Satan came up to you and he said, turn these rocks into bread, what would your response be? You'd probably just laugh and mock him. Like, I can't do that. That's ridiculous. He's not going to tempt you with something that is not a value. To you, that is. No desire from you. An enemy lures us into temptation based upon our own desires.
