When Does Temptation Become Sin?
We are tempted by our own desires. Now, these are not bad, okay? The temptation itself is not a bad thing in the sense that we are not unrighteous at this point. Nobody is unrighteous for being tempted. Christ was tempted, yet he was without sin. So this is not an unrighteous thing right here. Even having our own desires and it's trying to manipulate our desires, that's not actually a bad thing. It's how it's going to manipulate it that's going to be bad for us. That's where we get into the unrighteousness. And then it entices us. And that enticing is, of course, getting you to bite. And then when the desires have conceived, this is what's going on within the mind. The mind at this point, you have trespassed because the conception is you have the desire and the determination to do the desire. So I can have the desire. I am not in an unrighteous state. I can struggle with the desire. I am still not in an unrighteous state. It is when I take that desire and I determine to actually do it. Now I am in an unrighteous state. I have not sinned yet because you'll notice something has to happen. It gives birth to sin.
