2 Timothy 3:1-5: “But mark this: There will be terrible times (WHEN?) in the last days.People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God—having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.”
Paul used that phrase “last days” he was referring to any time after the cross
Matthew 24:1-3:“Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings “Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately.”
Matthew 24:3“Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
Two questions
When will the temple be destroyed?
What will be the sign of your coming”
Matthew 24:15-16“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand—then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.”
Matthew 24:17-20“Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house.18Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak.19How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers!20Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.”
Abomination that causes desolation = Gentiles are going to be in the Holy of Holies.
Matthew 24:6 “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed.Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.”

Don’t be alarmed the end is still to come.
Matthew 24:7-8 “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.8All these are the beginning of birth pains.”
Matthew 24:9“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.”
Matthew 24:10-11 “At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,”
Matthew 24:13”But the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
Testimony will reach all nations, and then the end will come
You and I call signs are more like precursors.
Something that happens that should quickly get our attention.
Reminder that Jesus said he is coming again.
You see, if God chooses to use a sign – it will be crystal clear.
Luke 2:8-12“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night.9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people.11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
“But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the (WHO) Son,[f]but only the Father.”
Matthew 24:42“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
We must have a spirit of expectancy.
Be Ready
Matthew 24:44“So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.”
Five essentials for being ready
Believe.
Repentance
Confession
Baptism
Two things that make you and I a candidate to be baptized.
Believe
Mark 16:16“Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
Repent
Acts 2:38 ““Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Committed.
