I keep a notebook by my bed
Sometimes I write what's in my head
Last night I saw myself somewhere else
Different clothes, different shelf
But woke up here in the same old place
Same routine, same tired face

There's something pulling at my chest
This feeling I can't put to rest
I watch the hours slip away
While thinking 'bout another day

This thing inside won't let me be
It's bigger than what others see
I can't shake what I'm meant to find
It lives somewhere inside my mind

I walk these streets but feel so small
Like I'm not living life at all
There's got to be more than this
Something I don't want to miss

Maybe I'm crazy thinking I could fly
Maybe I'm foolish but I've got to try
Won't spend forever wondering why
I never reached up to the sky

Started taking different roads
Carrying these heavy loads
But every step feels more like me
Getting closer to being free

It's getting stronger every day
This voice that's telling me to stay
True to what I know is right
Even when it's out of sight

People say I'm chasing air
Tell me nothing's really there
But I can feel it in my bones
This path I have to walk alone

Some nights I'm scared I'll never know
If I should stay or if I'll go
But morning comes and I'm still here
Pushing through despite the fear

I see it clearer than before
This thing worth fighting for
It's not about what others think
It's standing right here on the brink

This thing inside won't let me be

The road ahead still looks unclear
But I'm not backing down from here
Whatever happens, I'll survive
At least I know that I'm alive

Tonight I'll write it in my book
About the chances that I took
And when I wake up I will know
I'm ready now to let it grow
This thing inside me, it's my own
The seed that I have always known
