Welcome. Well here we are. The 100th episode and the 100th day doing the daily updates in the Garden. With Fall coming early, this is weekend is now busier than I wanted, having to tear down the soft sided pool when I really wanted to harvest the carrots and do a little more canning of the Zucchinis.

Here is the link to Nicolas Hulscher’s Substack regarding Glyphosate. I can’t believe Canadians are just sitting back letting the Liberal Government spray them with poison. The Ottawa Valley forest area is exactly where my last garden was, about 300 meters from the Ottawa River shore. I would be losing my mind if that was being sprayed on that garden as it was much larger with wild items growing across the acreage. And the critters will be poisoned as well; it’s a disaster by absolute incompetent morons. Speaking of which, please politely write your displeasure to your MPP: https://www.ola.org/en/members/current/contact-information

If the only ongoing concern was the Garden I’d be golden, but the channel and all software related learning curve never stops, and just when you get used to something, we get updates. At least we know what to expect in the garden: growth, pestilence, flowers, fruit and seeds.

The lattice on the back Squash box couldn’t take the weight anymore and collapsed on one side. I’m wondering how many more structural failures we’re going to endure before the frost.

The beans pleasantly surprised me today with enough for a meal on their own, but I’m still going to fry them up with carrots and garlic and then sauté in soya sauce. It’s the old 4-4-4 minute cook. Crush/cut your garlic at least 20 minutes prior to get the full health benefits from the released allicin for it’s antiplatelet blood benefit, then fry the beans & garlic at medium heat for 4 min – salting halfway through, then add the soya sauce and simmer for 4 min, then turn off the pan and let sit for 4 min. Delicious.

Two potato plants got dug up today for supper, and there’s only enough potatoes for 3 meals. The potato boxes did not produce very well and I’m expecting the inground to do much better.

The Kale is out of control.

It’s still to early to tell if the second Pumpkin plant’s only pumpkin got pollinated, and if it did, it’s the size of a golf ball now, so I don’t have much hope for it, which leaves us only the one growing on the corner to the driveway which is barely dodge ball size.

Butch seems no less for wear after I accidently broke off three of the flower stems yesterday, and the two sunflowers are keeping the pollinators happy.

This is the bushiest the morning glories have been since I started growing them 4 years ago.
