For nearly a decade, we’ve been told that Russian operatives hacked the Democratic National Committee and stole emails and other documents, which were then passed to WikiLeaks and published ahead of the 2016 election. Both WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and the Russian government have denied that Russia was the source of the leaked DNC materials.
