Insane Road Rage Incident Ends Up With Lunatic Pulling A Rifle And Shooting At Man In His Driveway

Posted • August 29, 2025: Grantsville, Utah — A man is facing several attempted murder charges after he allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot at a driver in road rage. Mark McGehee, 53, was arrested on two first-degree felony counts of attempted murder — road rage, one second-degree felony count of prohibited dangerous weapon conduct, four third-degree felony counts of aggravated assault, two third-degree felony counts of felony discharge of a firearm — road rage, two class B misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, and one class B misdemeanor count of reckless driving — road rage. He struck their vehicle twice, causing minor damage, the affidavit states. The victims were able to reverse out of the area, but McGehee reportedly started chasing them through the city. He drove into oncoming traffic in an attempt to get them to pull over.

At one point, McGehee pulled out a gun and fired at the driver, the affidavit states, but due to oncoming traffic, he fell back, putting him behind the victims' vehicle. "It is reported [McGehee] fired 7-8 rounds while chasing the victims northbound on SR-138 until the victims entered I-80 westbound," the affidavit states. McGehee was arrested and booked into the Tooele County Jail.
