Detailed Story (Part 8)

I explain my concerns about the life altering consequences of being disfigured. At 24 years old I reveal to my parents, the complications I have suffered from this surgery and I am committed to a psychiatric institution. I am presented with an ultimatum by my parents in order to leave the psychiatric institution. I leave psychiatric institution and begin to obtain x-ray proof of my claim of a slow and ongoing disfiguring condition.

Regarding my opposition to joining the military: Once I began to distrust the government at an early age, I also became very skeptical of our military and it's true purpose. I don't want to be misunderstood about this however. I do realize that it would be very naive to think that a military of some sort is unnecessary. Just like a person should be ready and capable of defending oneself, so should a nation. My primary issue with the military originated from my suspicion that the government wielded it with a lack of integrity and for nefarious purposes, while not giving a damn for its citizens, service members or veterans. I always thought that I could serve society much more effectively utilizing my strengths, pursuing the truth and building rather than destroying.
