The brutal conflict in Sudan between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Force (RSF) is now in its 3rd year. Tens of thousands have been killed with heinous atrocities committed by both sides including cold-blooded executions, torture and mass rapes. Ethnic Cleansing has also been reported. The war has also triggered the largest global humanitarian crisis; the largest displacement crisis in the world; and the world’s largest hunger crisis with half of the population of 50 million facing starvation.

This discussion will explain the underlying causes and hidden agendas behind this conflict, including the involvement of international governments in inciting and fueling the fighting for their own self interests. It will also address the disastrous consequences of the war upon Sudan and the region.

The discussion is part of a global campaign launched by the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir to bring an international spotlight on the deteriorating humanitarian catastrophe afflicting the Muslims of Sudan as a result of this conflict which has been described as the “Forgotten War” for it has not received the global attention & international media coverage that it deserves.
