Cayenne, or Capsicum Annuum, is not only wonderful for cooking, but it is also very helpful for your health. One of Cayenne's main actions is supporting the circulatory system.

It's known as a dispersive circulatory helper, meaning as a tincture or tea, Cayenne can enhance blood flow and moves heat to your extremeties. This makes Cayenne a wonderful herb for the elderly or those alike with colds hands and feet.

Cayenne is an AMAZING styptic herb. A styptic, or hemostat is an herb that stops bleeding. Be sure to always have some powdered cayenne ready if you get any deep cuts! It may sound painful to use, but cayenne is even a antinociceptive, meaning it blocks pain receptors! For this reason, it is also helpful with cold sores, shingles, etc.

This wonderful medicinal herb has also been known to slow or stop heart attacks!

Growing tips for Cayenne - because you'll just want a good supply, no doubt!

Perennial in zones 9-11 or annual in colder climates. Wants moist, well drained, fertile, neutral soil & sun. Start indoors 8-10 weeks early. Space at least 1 foot apart.
