Cardi B is currently in New York City involved in a civil trial in Alhambra. She is accused of assaulting a security guard. While on the stand, Cardi was asked if she considered herself to be African American. She responded by stating she considered herself to be Afro Caribbean. Currently, there is a large debate all over social media arguing that she is admitting to not being black. I am here to address such foolery. This is the kind of stuff we as melanated people preoccupy our time with... topics of exclusion, separation, ignorance and delusion.

Emerson Evans is a hot topic because we need to address our people using their head and not their emotions.

According to The Neighborhood Talk on Instagram

A 31 year old man from Normal Illinois Emerson Evans is sitting in jail after being accused of secretly ending his girlfriend’s pregnancy without her consent.

Prosecutors say Evans slipped four abortion pills inside his girlfriend during sex without her knowledge. The victim had just been to the doctor days earlier where she found out she was seven weeks pregnant and everything was healthy. She also made it clear she did not want to end the pregnancy despite Evans allegedly pressuring her.

According to court documents Evans first lied and claimed his girlfriend knew about the pills but later admitted to investigators that she didn’t. The pills he used mifepristone are supposed to be taken one at a time by mouth and the prosecutor pointed out that misusing them like this could have caused life threatening side effects including cardiac arrest or severe bleeding.

The victim reportedly told police she was scared of Evans and even said in a danger assessment that she believes he is capable of killing her. A judge agreed to keep Evans locked up until trial saying the way he tried to end the pregnancy without consent showed he could be a danger to others. He is facing two counts of intentional homicide of an unborn child which carries the same penalty as first degree murder.

Evans’ next court date is set for September 12.
