The title of this episode is taken from the song Thank You for Being a Friend, from the 1978 album All This and Heaven Too, by artist Andrew Gold. While Andrew Gold is the original artist, many people are familiar with the song due to it's being the opening theme song for The Golden Girls, where the vocals were sung by Cynthia Fee.
