Matthew Session 2

The Book of Matthew Session 2 by Chuck Missler. One of the greatest teachers of all time in my opinion, certainly my favorite.

Now that the introductory lesson is out of the way we begin a line by line in-depth understanding of the Book of Matthew.
Just the breakdown of the differences of each gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) and what they purport of Jesus Christ is worth the watch (the thumbnail from the 4:38 mark).

An interesting aside which you may not be aware of-
when God gave the four images of the beasts/symbols about the throne, the four symbols representing God to the tribes, in the four cardinal directions of the cross-
Lion, ox, man, eagle.
Originally it was a serpent which was to represent the tribe of Dan I believe (don't quote me on this look into it for yourself, I believe it was Dan). But they (Dan) didn't like this and so they broke from what God had said and changed it to a serpent 'in the mouth of an eagle."
Not good in my opinion, not a good move.
Apparently they had forgotten the whole - brass serpent on a pole thing raised by Moses and Aaron scene where thousands of deadly, firey, viperous, venomous snakes (sent by the Lord) killed anyone struck by them. Anyone who looked upon the brass serpent raised on a pole (cross) and believed the words of God, that they would be saved - were indeed saved.

«And the people spake against God, and against Moses, Wherefore have ye brought us up out of Egypt to die in the wilderness? for there is no bread, neither is there any water; and our soul loatheth this light bread. And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived.»
Numbers 21:5-9

Lesson of the day? Even if we do not understand it-trust God.
Like Job - in both his great belief,
and unbelief.
Now Job is a better man than I will ever be,
and also I realize it is FAR easier to sit behind a keyboard and type out truths then when one is ACTUALLY going through them in reality and life-
That STILL doesn't change the correct answers from being correct.

Also, take note of the "beasts"

«Also out of the midst thereof came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man. And every one had four faces, and every one had four wings. And their feet were straight feet; and the sole of their feet was like the sole of a calf's foot: and they sparkled like the colour of burnished brass. And they had the hands of a man under their wings on their four sides; and they four had their faces and their wings. Their wings were joined one to another; they turned not when they went; they went every one straight forward. As for the likeness of their faces, they four had the face of a man, and the face of a lion, on the right side: and they four had the face of an ox on the left side; they four also had the face of an eagle. Thus were their faces: and their wings were stretched upward; two wings of every one were joined one to another, and two covered their bodies. stretched: or, divided above And they went every one straight forward: whither the spirit was to go, they went; and they turned not when they went.»
Ezekiel 1:5-12

And Revelation

«And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was , and is , and is to come . And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.»
Revelation 4:5-11

And their placement - opposed, cardinal directions - the same way the camp of the travelling Israelites was to always set up in the cardinal directions of N, S, E, W-
never NW,SW, SE, etc.
as seen demonstrated here - at the 54:40 mark

You need to watch about 5 minutes of this video to understand the next parts I will talk about.

Two things jump out:

First, lion - ox are opposed each other. Lions feast upon oxen, they are prey to them. And oxen form up in heards to oppose them and protect their members. I find it interesting that the ox is "above," to the north of the lion typically a dominant position.
Also man - "eagle" but REALLY a serpent, an eagle with a serpent snatched up in it's mouth.
So a man opposed (opposite) the representation of sin - also mortal enemies.
OR/also a representation of sin conquered twice now (the brass serpent on the "pole" (cross) by Moses and Aaron. And also by Jesus at the cross which he was crucified for our sins. And like the ox/lion, man is on the left(a lesser position) while sin/serpent/eagle sits at the right the dominant position -
for Yeshua sits at "the right hand of God."

However this could be only for/from the perspective of me/ the man looking on from above - and NOT from God's perspective from WITHIN the camp - so, all of that with a grain of salt.

Also, the Levites, the priesthood of Yaweh, at the center - keeping seemingly opposed forces together to work for the greater good.

Secondly-
Knowingly or not
and I suspect it is VERY knowingly to anyone who ever thought to look-
throughout ALL of Jewish history -
and ALL of their travelling
The Jews have carried their (our) messiah to the cross he was crucified upon for you, and I, and well-
all of us
since Israel was named Israel.
The layout of the Israelite camp was always a cross.
A cross which bore the Lord.
Through the wilderness, through the desert, through the travails.

That cross has now been handed to you and I to pick up and follow after the Lord in our travels.

« He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God. And he straitly charged them, and commanded them to tell no man that thing; Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily , and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.»
Luke 9:20-24

These are just some of my thoughts I have picked up in my understanding of the words/lessons of God.
Certainly not authoritative but things for you to consider in your own studies.
The lessons of the Lord are *virtually* endless.
The treasures are unending, the joy of the creator revealing Himself to us for His and OUR pleasure.
I tell you folks, nothing makes my heart as joyful,
except maybe to see someone previously unbelieving of the Lord,
or defeating one of their serious sins (like addiction) through the Lord,
like discovering these patterns.
Like following a trail of gold coins-
Like every coin is a great find, but even lead to chests of gold!
But then Lo!
Look even now-
Another trail of more coins leads off yonder-
Are you kidding me!?!

You also may have picked up that this brings us to a further lesson/mystery which we have stumbled across here-
there are differences between Ezekiel's (1:5-12) four beasts - both in the faces placement and the number of wings and Revelation's (4:5-11)-
why? Something for you to drill down on.
I think it has something to do with Judaisms (many of the Jews, not all obviously, but the official RELIGION-
and the taking it up by the gentiles-
"us."

May the Lord God Almighty
bless you in your studies and travels through Jesus Christ
and the Holy Spirit.
Don't keep it hidden-
