Big Block Modifieds at Volusia

A National career race at Volusia Speedway Park on Expert difficulty. The track surface moderately smooth with some bumps in the corners, typical of a dirt track. There is a good amount of room for maneuverability around traffic. The track does get slick through the middle after Qualifying and progressively gets worse, leaving a small strip on the bottom and the cushion for traction. I find the bottom fastest all night long by about 0.2 seconds.

A pretty good race with 3 cautions. The first caution came as Billy Decker and another car made contact with Decker spinning out. The 2nd caution came as Marc Johnson slid up off the bottom into me, causing me to play pinball between Johnson and Felix Roy, ending with Johnson spinning out. The 3rd and final caution came as a 4 car pile up involving at Decker, Roy, and 2 others, with Decker spun to a stop in the middle of the track. Abby King decided to bonzi to the bottom where I already was, sending me nose first into the wall. So much for that bumper. Generally traffic navigation was very good. I did bump a couple cars, nothing hard though. Also scraped the wall a couple times. Overall this race was pretty good, cleaner than most every race with the Regional series.
