In Ch 1 we see a fascinating statement direct from the LORD HIMself that essentially say: Even stubborn donkeys and ox’s have more understanding and sense than what the people are demonstrating. Instead of understanding they push away the One who gives them all they need to survive. And again, this applies to people today as well.
Isaiah describes the state of the nation as a kind of spiritual sickness. The head is sick, the heart faint, and the whole body is unsound. Even though covered with bruises, sores, and open wounds, she will not treat any of her injuries. The nation goes on as if nothing is wrong.
I guess many unbelievers and believers do the same. They know something is wrong with the way they are living, worshipping or lack thereof… but they go on without addressing it, without going to the source of the real solution: Yeshua.
1COR 11:27-31, So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the LORD in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the LORD. Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep.
GAL 6:7-8, “Do not be deceived: GOD cannot be mocked. A person reaps whatever they sow. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
